Do you mean adding a counter for tiles with tiles only featuring cities, roads and monasteries? You can actually use any tile as a vanilla one if you ignore anything but the basic features... Are you going to discard the 20 tiles in Traders & Builders because you have trade good symbols if you are playing in vanilla mode?
