Number of Meeples

Isn't it 5 in the Base Game, and then the 6th later?

I copied the entry from BB6 where it is assumed that you have available all the meeples for six players. I will add clarifications on this matter ==Meepledrone (talk) 21:45, 15 September 2018 (UTC)

Adapted footnote #3 from C1 Base Game to the Abbot case. Please feel free if you feel something more needs to be clarified on this matter. ==Meepledrone (talk) 22:02, 15 September 2018 (UTC)

Added mention of 5 meeples in Base Game to footnote, and availability of gardens in expansions in new artwork prior to BB6. --Wolnic (talk) 21:52, 16 September 2018 (UTC)

Placing a meeple

When placing a tile with a monastery or Garden you may place your abbot onto the monastery or' onto the garden. You may, of course, place a regular meeple onto the monastery, or other features, such as roads, etc. You may not place a regular meeple onto the garden.

Included this wording. It is clearer about the regular meeple limitations with gardens. ==Meepledrone (talk) 22:10, 15 September 2018 (UTC)

Removed original footnote, from CAR, which repeats the revised last sentence. --Wolnic (talk) 21:53, 16 September 2018 (UTC)

The Abbot and abbeys and shrines/cult places

I've been checking the interaction between The Abbot and other monastery-like features. And included a footnote on this matter. I agree with the comments in this page:

https://boardgamegeek.com/thread/1920235/abbots-abbeys-and-shrines-questions

that are more recent (January 2018) than an older entry in Carcassonne Central started by Whaleyland that states that the Abbot cannot be place onto a shrine/cult place:

What is your opinion on this? ==Meepledrone (talk) 09:09, 16 September 2018 (UTC)

Cult places are some kind of "negative cloisters", so I do not see the point to allow placing abbot there. --Msasinski (talk) 16:32, 16 September 2018 (UTC)

The Abbot and German/Dutch & Belgian Monasteries and Japanese Buildings

I'm checking this interaction too. So far I have only found some House Rules that use the new abbot as the old abbot in German/Dutch & Belgian Monasteries and Japanese Buildings in order to limit the number of these special monasteries one player can claim.

See entry by Fritz_Spinne here:

Any thoughts on this? ==Meepledrone (talk) 09:09, 16 September 2018 (UTC)

"German/Dutch & Belgian Monasteries" - aren't those from old Carc? Japanese buildings have so crappy graphics that they fit both version the same way. I think Japanese temples are places where monks live, not abbots. --Msasinski (talk) 16:35, 16 September 2018 (UTC)

But the German Monasteries, etc. may be re-released in the new artwork ... --Wolnic (talk) 21:59, 16 September 2018 (UTC)
