Saint Nicholas Scoring Board has two special spaces. If your scoring meeple moves to (or exceeds) the 6 space as last player or the 24 space as first player (spaces are marked with a sticker), you will immediately get an additional turn.

Rules

Preparation

Use the Saint Nicholas Scoring Board instead of the normal scoreboard.

Gameplay

Santa Claus Scoreboard C2 Image.jpg
1. Placing a tile

Whenever you draw a tile, place it normally.

2. Placing a meeple

You may place a meeple according to the usual rules.

3. Scoring a feature

If your scoring meeple moves to (or exceeds) the 6 space as last player or the 24 space as first player (spaces are marked with a sticker), you will immediately get an additional turn.

This means, that after this scoring phase, you immediately draw another tile and take another turn. Once your action is finished it's the next players turn.

Official clarification from the publisher Question: Does the effect of the 6 and 24 spaces on the scoreboard apply only to players with points below 50 points or should it be considered in every lap?

Answer: You can only be the first or the last player once, so only in the first lap. (4/2026)

Official clarification from the publisher Question: If multiple players score at the same time and meet the conditions for an extra turn, does each player draw a tile and play an extra turn after their regular turn?

Answer: Yes, it should be played like that, because then you are all together the first/last player meeting the condition to get an extra turn. (4/2026)

Official clarification from the publisher Question: Let's assume Red has 0 points and all the other players have already scored more than 6 points but haven't reached 24 points yet. If Red scores 26 points becoming the last player to go past the 6 space and the first to go past the 24 space, does Red get one or two extra turns?

Answer: Red fulfills both conditions, so Red should get both extra turns. (4/2026)

Other Expansions

This section contains additional information about the interactions with other Carcassonne expansions.

General rules:

Interpretation from the Community The extra turn consists in a full turn happening right after the active player's current turn (even if it involves a builder's turn), that is, right before the following player becomes the new active player. As a consequence, additional nested turns happening due to dispatches (see Mini #2 - The Messengers Mini #2 - The Messengers), tile auctions (see Exp. 8 - Bridges, Castles & Bazaars Exp. 8 - Bridges, Castles & Bazaars) or builders in nested turns (see Exp. 2 - Traders & Builders Exp. 2 - Traders & Builders) will be completed as usual.

Interpretation from the Community If several players comply with the condition when scoring a feature, they all benefit from the extra turn.

  • They will perform their extra turn after their next normal turn.
  • They may draw their next tile right away and put it in front of them, if there are enough tiles left.

Exp. 2 - Traders & BuildersExp. 2 - Traders & Builders

Interpretation from the Community If the active player meets one of the conditions above and, at the time, they expanded a road or city with their builder, the active player first completes their builder's move, after which the extra turn granted by the Saint Nicholas Scoring Board will take place. Any additional turns granted during the builder's turn will be carried out afterwards. [1]

Mini #2 - The MessengersMini #2 - The Messengers

Interpretation from the Community As all players have a scoring meeple and a messenger, if a player moves the first of their counting figures last to (or exceeds) the 6 space (all other players already have a counting figure behind the 6 space) or moves the second of their counting figures first to (or exceeds) the 24 space (no one else has two counting figures there) of the scoreboard, the player immediately receives an extra turn. It does not matter if the counting figure is the counting meeple or the messenger. [1]

Mini #6 - The RobbersMini #6 - The Robbers

Interpretation from the Community During scoring a feature, any points stolen by a robber on the scoreboard can trigger the condition that grants an extra turn. [1]
