Introduction

- Decide which Carcassonne edition to use as primary for the game
- First edition (C1)
- Second edition (C2) and/or third edition (C3)
- Winter edition (WE)
- Decide which expansions, if any, to use with the base game
- Identify and agree any rule variants -according to the selected edition(s)- or house rules, resolve and agree any points of interpretation and clarify areas of potential misunderstanding or contradiction.
- Choose the youngest participant as starting player (unless otherwise agreed).

- Place start tile(s) faceup in the center of the playing area
- Place the base starting tile. Place the Gingerbread Man on the city segment.
- Discard the base starting tile unless you are playing with The School. Be ready to place the Gingerbread Man on a city segment of the first tile placed containing at least one. (It can be on a river tile if no other start tile is used.)
- Place the school with the teacher figure next to the base starting tile
- Place the City of Carcassonne with the Count figure on the castle quarter
- Place the Ghosts, Castles & Cemeteries 2x2 starting tile
- Place the Wheel Of Fortune with the big pig figure on the "Fortune" section
- Place the Markets of Leipzig tiles

- Remove 3 out of the 12 Peasant Revolts tiles, after shuffling them. Use only 9 tiles
- Shuffle normal land tiles (separate 17, if playing The Plague)
- Place them in stacks facedown
- Put them in the tile bag, as an option
- Place them in the tile tower, as an option
- Distribute abbey tiles: 1 to each player
- Distribute Halfling tiles according to the number of Halfling sets used:
- 1 set (12 tiles): 2 tiles per player
- 2 sets (24 tiles): 3 tiles (or more, if agreed so) per player
Two possible options:
- First game: Shuffle the Hafling tiles (except those with expansion symbols) facedown and each player gets the tiles.
- Later games: Place the Halfling tiles face up. Starting from the last player in counterclockwise order, each player picks one tile at a time until all players have the required number of tiles.
- Distribute German Castle tiles, depending on the number of players:
- 2-3 players: 1 or 2 tiles
- 4-6 players: 1 tile
Two possible options:
- Each player picks the tile (or tiles) of his choice.
- Mix the tiles and distribute them at random.
- Select wonder tiles: 1 or 2 per player (Note: If playing with one set, there may be up to 4 players only).

- Place the scoreboard off to the side of the game table. You may use the one included in Ghosts, Castles & Cemeteries instead of the one from the base game.
- Shuffle the gift cards and place them facedown in a stack by the scoreboard.
- Place the selected wonder tiles faceup by the scoreboard.
- Prepare Land Surveyors scoring tiles:
- Shuffle the scoring tiles and place them face up in three stacks (cities, roads and monasteries) by the scoreboard
- Take the top scoring tile from each stack and place them next to the corresponding stack as initial active scoring tiles

- Distribute figures to each player in one color
- Normal followersmeeples: 86 + (1 or 2 recommended for The Markets of Leipzig) + (1 or 2 for The Wonders of Humanity)
- If playing with The Markets of Leipzig: it is recommended to add extra followersmeeples, as they tend to run low with this expansion:
- Add 1 normal followermeeple with C2 rules, if available
- Add 2 normal followersmeeples with C3 rules, if available
- If playing with The Wonders of Humanity:
- Add 1 normal followermeeple or 1 unused figure in the player's color to be used as wonder marker.
- Add 1 normal followermeeple or 1 unused figure in the player's color to be used as second wonder marker, if playing with the variant with 2 wonders.

- Place 1 wonder marker per player (taken from their supply) next to the 50 space of the scoreboard, if playing with the variant with 2 wonders.
- Place 1 normal followermeeple per player (taken from their supply) on the 0 space of the scoreboard (it will serve as a scoring figure).
- Place messengers on the 0 space of the scoreboard.

Final scoring summary
. Prepare for final scoring
- Each player adds up the scores of their counting figuresscoring figures. Then each player places one counting figurescoring figure on their achieved total and removes the other. No message tiles are drawn during final scoring.
- Each player with their robber on the scoreboard scores 3 points and returns it to their supply
- Each player scores 2 points per unopened gift card in their supply and removes them
- Score the circus and remove the big top
- Settle the bets on the board separately. Each bet's owner decides its associated feature, if several options are available
- Remove castle lords still in normal castles on the game board and any ghosts added to them
- Remove cemetery keepers from the game board and any ghosts added to them
- Remove gold pieces still on the game board
- Remove the Easter bunny
- Redeploy followersmeeples from the market quarterdistrict of the City of Carcassonne to farmsfields, if the Count figure is not placed on that district. Players starting from the left of the active player redeploy one followermeeple at a time until no followersmeeples are left. 1. Introducció
El selector d'expansions permet escollir les expansions (o algunes de les seves parts) que voleu fer servir a les pàgines de referència de la WICA. Segons la selecció, s'adaptarà l'ordre de joc i les seccions de puntuació. D'aquesta manera, es pot personalitzar la WICA per tal que s'adapti a les vostres partides sense que les regles relatives a les altres expansions destorbin.
Tal com ja s'ha dit prèviament, les expansions que consten de diferents parts, permeten que se seleccionin només alguns dels seus elements. Per exemple, es poden marcar les peces d'abadia i el carretó de «L'abadia i l'alcalde» i deixar de banda el graner i l'alcalde.
2. Guia d'ús
El selector té diverses pestanyes i a sota hi ha una àrea que enumera la selecció actual en tot moment, independentment de la pestanya que es mostri.
Podeu fer clic a qualsevol etiqueta de pestanya per a anar a la pestanya desitjada. Els clics addicionals d'una pestanya seleccionada la plegaran i la desplegaran de nou per a accedir al selector quan sigui necessari. Si es canvia a una altra pestanya, s'amplia el selector automàticament.

2.1. Pestanya d'«expansions»
Les primeres tres (o quatre) pestanyes de l'esquerra permeten escollir expansions completes o algunes de les seves parts, si es pot.
- Expansions principals: enumera totes les expansions principals de HiG.
- Miniexpansions: enumera totes les miniexpansions de HiG i algunes dels seus equivalents en llicències.
- Altres expansions: enumera les altres expansions de llicència i no oficials, aixó com les expansions <iprint-and-play de HiG.
- Expansions dels fans: enumera les expansions fetes pels fans. Aquesta pestanya pot no estar disponible en alguns casos.
Aquestes pestanyes mostren una llista d'expansions on cada etiqueta està precedida per una casella de selecció que permet afegir-les o traure-les de la selecció.
Els grups d'expansió que tenen diversos components mostren un símbol «[+]» quan estan plegats i un de «[–]» quan estan desplegats. Podeu fer clic als símbols per a plegar o desplegar els grups. En cas que estiguin desplegats, es mostren totes les seves parts i es poden afegir o traure a la selecció individualment.
Cada pestanya té una etiqueta de text amb el format «Grup (X/Y)» per tal d'identificar el conjunt d'expansions enumerades (indicades per Grup), el nombre d'expansions seleccionades (representades per X) i el nombre total disponible (representat per Y). 2.2. Pestanya de «Selectors ràpids»
Aquesta és la quarta pestanya començant per l'esquerra. Permet triar d'entre una llista predefinida d'expansions disponibles. Aquesta pestanya conté els següents elements:
- Una llista desplegable i un botó per a seleccionar expansions: Permeten seleccionar i carregar un paquet d'expansions predefinit, com ara una Big Box o totes les expansions de l'edició nova.
- El botó de netejar la selecció buida la selecció actual amb un sol clic.
- El botó per a seleccionar-ho tot selecciona totes les expansions disponibles amb un sol clic.
2.3. Pestanya de filtres
Aquesta és la cinquena pestanya començant per l'esquerra. Permet triar quines edicions del Carcassonne es mostren i l'edició preferida. - Panell d'«Edició preferida»: conté un conjunt de botons d'opció per a la 1a edició (C1), la nova edició (C2+C3) i l'edició d'hivern. El botó d'opció seleccionat indica al selector d'expansions quina edició té prioritat sobre l'altra quan cal:
- Descriure les referències del joc, l'ordre de joc, les regles de puntuació i les figures de joc: Si hi ha diferències entre edicions, es mostraran les regles de l'edició i la redacció preferides. Per exemple, el moviment del drac es mostrarà en diferents passos en l'ordre de joc depenent de si s'ha seleccionat C1 o C2+C3.
- Mostrar imatges a les seccions de puntuació: Per a les expansions disponibles en les dues edicions, les imatges mostrades correspondran a l'edició seleccionada. Les imatges d'una expansió només existent en una edició no canviaran.
El botó d'opció per a una edició només s'activarà si aquesta edició està disponible, és a dir, està seleccionada al tauler «Mostra edicions».
També inclou una casella de selecció amb l'etiqueta «Marca les adaptacions de regles»: Si està marcada, es ressaltaran totes les regles que es mostren a la referència de joc, l'ordre de joc, i les figures del joc que no corresponguin a l'edició preferida.
Aquesta pestanya mostra una etiqueta similar a «Filtres (C1/C2+C3/EH) #"» que enumera totes les edicions seleccionades entre parèntesis i una de les quals està subratllada, indicant que és la preferida. També s'hi inclou el signe de hash «#» si es marquen les adaptacions de regles.
