Preparation

The Black Fairy is a neutral figure that belongs to no player. It begins the game in the supply.

Gameplay

Feature King's Gateway C2.png
1. Placing a tile

Tiles with royal gates are played as usual. When two gates of the same type (Feature King's Gateway C2.png King's Gate / Feature Queen's Gateway C2.png Queen's Gate) are placed in different cities, this cities are considered to be the same city. If both gates of the same type are played in the same city, there is no effect.

2. Placing a meeple

You may deploy a meeple to any part of the tile (city, road, or field) according to usual rules. A meeple may not be deployed to the gate itself. All meeples placed in both cities containing the King’s Gate or Queen's Gate are counted together when determining who has the most knights in the city. Each part of connected cities share meeples and other figures placed there.

Example 1: You can not place a meeple to placed tile, because both cities are connected by King's gates and occupied by Blue.
3. Scoring a feature

City with any royal gate(s) is finished if it contains: 1. Only two Kings' gates 2. Only two Queen's gates 3. Contains all 4 Royal gates. It doesn't matter, how much cities are connected, each tile is counted only once.

All meeples placed in any city of connected cities by royal gates are counted together to calculate the majority.

Final Scoring
Example 2: Blue knight scores 5 points for unfinished cities. As cities has same type of royal gate they create one connected city. Each tile is counted as usual, only once.
Blue farmer scores 0 points, because one of connected city is still unfinished, so both cities are consider as unfinished.
