Introduction

This will show the tiles from the selected sets and expansions listed by edition, tile type and edge configuration, you can filter by feature type as well.

You may also select some variations of some exiting sets, expansions or parts of them, that may show different tile distributions: standalone versions vs. Big Box versions, misprinted versions, and so on.

Tile descriptions

The distribution lists here are organized by edge configuration type, as well as by set/expansion. More precisely, square tiles are organized by the topology of their edges. For example :-

  • FFFF in the game distribution lists below denotes a tile on which all four edges are fields
  • RRRR is one on which all four sides are roads, and
  • CCCC is one on which all four sides are cities

The tile notation and headings are ordered alphabetically, according to the following hierarchy :-

  • Cities (C)
  • Fields (F)
  • Roads (R)
  • Rivers (S) - think of "streams"
  • City gates (G) - included in a PnP expansion (listed at the end as they are a special case)

Practically speaking, that means that a city is always placed at the top, and the rest of the tile described clockwise from that starting point. If there is more than one city, the first city - again seen clockwise - is placed at the top. If there is no city at all, then a field is placed at the top, and so on.

For example:-

This tile has an edge topology of "City, Field, Road, Field" and would be listed under CFRF

Triangular tiles are organized in a similar way, describing their long edge first, followed by the two short edges in clockwise order.

For example:-

This tile has an edge topology of "Road, City, Field" and would be listed under RCF

Double-sized tiles, tiles in other shapes and special tiles are listed too but no description is provided about their topology.

Tile captions

In the new edition, several tiles have a small illustration on them. The letters in brackets show which illustration is on each tile: [1]

  1. Notorious rule difference among editions or publishers The tile reference included in the Big Box 6 by ZMG only translated the letters for the base game and the river. The rest of the expansions still use the German naming:
    Feature Garden C2.png
    G | Garten -
    Garden
    Feature Farmhouse C2.png
    B | Bauernhof -
    Farmhouse

    K | Kuhstall -

C3/C3 separation
Paloi Sciurala | Posted on Jun 7, 2023 at 12:35 am

The total separation between C2 and C3 is annoying. Is there any way to list both editions in the same section? For example, there are two subsections for "CCCC". I would like to see only 1.

Editions are fully separated now. Thay cannot be mixed at this point.

Is it possible to show ONLY the tiles carrying a specific feature?
anonymous | Posted on Oct 16, 2022 at 10:47 am

I needed to quickly have a look to all and only the square C2 tiles carrying a vulcano on them. I selected "Volcano" on the Feature tab and "Square Tiles" on the Edges tab. Nothing showed up. To make things show up I had to select all the six options in the "C2 Expansions" tab, and now 546 tiles showed up. All of them were greyed out except for the 7 that matched my search. I had to scroll down and up to find them. My question: is there a way to only show those ones, hiding all the others that don't match the search? Thank you!

The selector requires you to select expansions to display those tiles matching the tile configurations and features you select.

Let's say it is expansion-driven not feature-driven.

Special monasteries
Paloi Sciurala | Posted on Oct 15, 2021 at 3:02 pm

There should be a function to remove the monasteries from the base game.

We could do it if we define a separate feature for them... But in any case, you should be able to select only two of them for Darmstad...

Don't know if this complexity would pay off in the end or you get away with it by deselecting FFFF and FFFR tiles, but this may affect other expansions, of course.

Paloi Sciurala | Posted on Jul 7, 2023 at 12:00 am

There is also no possibility to select only certain Spiel Promo tiles.

Meepledrone | Posted on Jul 15, 2023 at 11:57 am

What do you mean? Selecting thm by year?

I can, for example, select the Spiel tiles with an inn, or with roads...

Yes, selecting them by year. They are, after all, separate expansions.

Error
Paloi Sciurala | Posted on Nov 19, 2020 at 3:48 am

Does not work.

Meepledrone | Posted on Nov 19, 2020 at 9:45 am

What issues do you have?

I've tested it on several browsers: Internet Explorer, Edge, Opera, Firefox, Chrome,...

I choose on "Base game", "Major expansions", "Minor expansions"... but nothing happens (it says "Total tiles selected: 0 / 0" and no tile is displayed).

Meepledrone | Posted on Nov 19, 2020 at 4:06 pm

You have also to select tile edges you would like to include (all regular square tiles, for example) and chosen features, at least roads, cities and fields to get all the tiles.

You may click "Select All" in the "Quick Selectors" tab and see whay happens... ;-)

Paloi Sciurala | Posted on Nov 19, 2020 at 9:25 pm

Now it works.

Meepledrone | Posted on Nov 20, 2020 at 12:42 am

Glad to hear.

Added The Peasant Revolts to the Tile Reference... Have fun!

Paloi Sciurala | Posted on Nov 24, 2020 at 11:40 pm

It is displayed "PeasantRevolt_C2" instead of "The Peasant Revolts".

Meepledrone | Posted on Nov 25, 2020 at 12:26 am

Carcassonne_Tile_List must not be translated. It is language neutral. I deleted Carcassonne_Tile_List/ro as it was an outdated version with typos and redirected to the default one..

Paloi Sciurala | Posted on Nov 25, 2020 at 1:59 am

In this case, how can I translate "1st Edition", "2nd Edition" and "Winter Edition" (from Referință pentru cartonașe)?

Meepledrone | Posted on Nov 25, 2020 at 2:42 pm

The label ids in "Tile Selector Labels/ro" for those headers didn't match the expected ones, so no translation was displayed. Fixed...

When talking about the Tile Captions, shouldn’t we also talk about the German names for the tiles? For example, in the rulebook that comes with the 2017 Big Box version of the game, the Traders and Builders expansion: Tile HA is marked with a (K), the German word for Cows is Kuhe Tile HF is marked with a (W), the German word for Highwayman is Wegelagerer Tile HG is marked with a (S), the German word for Pigs is Schweine Tile HT is marked with a (B), the German word for Farmhouse is Bauernhaus I’m sure that the Tile Captions in that rulebook were just an oversite when everything was translated from German to English, but, as a new owner of the game in June of 2021, those captions did make thing more confusing. Maybe the extra research on the captions is why we are totally hooked on the game in just 2 months!

Meepledrone | Posted on Aug 14, 2021 at 7:25 am

I added a note on this matter. Thanks for the suggestion!

Keep having fun! I warn you the Carcassonne rabbit hole is very deep. I can talk from personal experience. ;-P
