Rules
Preparation
Preparing land tiles
Shuffle all 12 seasons land tiles and select as many as needed according to count of all other tiles in game.
Seasons tiles Number of tiles Comments 4 72 Base Game 8 ± 73 - 150 Including up to 3 large expansions or 6 minis[1] 12 ± 151+ Including more then 3 large expansions[1]
Now, shuffle the right number of seasons tiles with the rest of the land tiles. Put the unneeded seasons tiles back into the box.
Preparing seasons conditions
Before beginning the game shuffle the season conditions tokens and randomly draw 4 of them, one at a time. The first token drawn will be placed on the season tracker board next to the flower (Spring) icon. The second tile is placed next to the sun (Summer) icon, and so on until all 4 season conditions are determined. These conditions will remain placed for the entire game.
Now, place the clock token next to whatever current season it is in real time.
Throughout the game the current seasons will be marked by the clock token.
Gameplay
1. Placing a tile
When a tile with a season icon is drawn, place the tile as usual.
2. Placing a meeple
You may place a meeple according to the usual rules.
3. Scoring a feature
Determining the Seasons
The current season marked by is aplying for scoring completed features. Conditions exist for cities, roads, cloisters, shrines, and farms. New conditions with other features can be added by other expansions.
If a condition token is used that contains some features being played with and some features not being played with (such as shrines), ignore the conditions for those features not being used.
Scoring features
As was stated above, the conditions of each season are randomly determined at the start of the game.
When determining the score of a completed feature throughout the game, a season’s condition is the very last thing added or subtracted from that score. Each specific condition will only be in effect when the clock token is placed on the respective season.
Seasons conditions types

Final Scoring
The scoring of incomplete features are impacted by the bonuses/reductions of the respective season’s condition.
{{{image}}}
not defined Example X: Looking at the picture above, if the game ended while the current season was Spring, any incomplete cities being scored must also take into effect the current season condition. An incomplete 6-tile city would normally be worth 6 points. However, after adding the condition, that incomplete city is worth 0 points. If the incomplete 6-tile city had been under-seige, or contained a cathedral, the player would LOSE 6 points at the end of the game.
4. Changing of season
When a tile with a season icon was played this turn, the clock token is moved to the next season in succession on the season tracker board.
New land tiles
The new Land tiles are played like those in the base game.
Other Expansions
Current season conditions always affect scoring a feature and/or a special figure even when using final scoring during the game.
