This game was released on December 1, 2002 with official support until January 1, 2006. This release was developed for Windows (Windows Vista, Windows XP, and Windows 7). It was available in English, German, French, and Russian.

It included the expansions: River, King and Baron, Inns and Cathedrals, Traders and Builders.

This videogame is considered the first adaptation of Carcassonne, introducing different "skins" for tiles and meeples.

Published by Sierra Online a division of Vivendi Games, Inc. and Microsoft Studios; developed by Sierra Online. This game was released on June 27, 2007. This release was developed for XBOX 360. It was available only in English.

Carcassonne [for DS]

Published by Koch Media GmbH and Deep Silver; developed by Independent Arts Software GmbH. This game was released on October 23, 2009. This release was developed for Nintendo DS. It was available in English, French, Italian, German.

It included only the River I expansion.

Similar to the PC Koch release, this game included four different themes (or skins) for tiles, called Scenary or Worlds. This is the only Carcassonne videogame that includes a Story mode.

Carcassonne [by Coding Monkeys]

Published and developed by The Coding Monkeys. This game was released on June 4, 2010 with official support until February 29, 2020. This release was developed for iOS initially. A major port was released on December 9, 2015 for Mac OS (Mac OS X 10.10).

It included the expansions: River I, River II, Inns and Cathedrals, Traders and Builders, The Phantom, The Princess & the Dragon, The Abbot, and Cathedrals in Germany. It also included Winter_Edition with the Winter_Edition_The_Gingerbread_Man expansion as purchasable in-app addons.

It was the first adaptation of Carcassonne for mobiles.
