Algemene informatie en opmerkingen
Oorspronkelijk uitgegeven door Hans im Glück, in Template:Year nl.
In Template:Year nl werd een tweede editie uitgegeven met modernere illustraties, enkele aanpassingen van de spelregels en enkele gewijzigde tegels.
Enige duizenden jaren geleden, voordat de omgeving rond de huidige stad Carcassonne met haar machtige burcht ontstond, was dit gebied al bewoon. De mensen jaagden op wilde dieren, verzamelden bessen en vingen vis om in hun dagelijkse levensbehoefte te voorzien. Ook tegenwoordig nog vertellen fantastische grotschilderingen en vondsten uit de oertijd van het leven van destijds.

Fan Expansions
- Fan Expansions for Hunters and Gatherers - A small number of fan produced "print-and-play" expansions have been created which are available from CarcassonneCentral and CarcassonneForum. These expansions may either be "completed" (available as a complete pack of tiles and rules (as applicable - some may only be a set of rules)) or "in development" (partially developed, perhaps some tiles and an outline of rules in a forum discussion thread).
- Although included with Hunters and Gatherers, an alternative set of 50/100 Scoring Tiles are available to download from CarcassonneCentral
