Les Quatre Saisons est une série de quatre extensions mineures, chacune consacrée à une saison différente avec des illustrations individuelles. La mini-extension Printemps contient 12 tuiles avec des motifs sur le thème du printemps. La mini-extension Été contient 12 tuiles avec des motifs sur le thème de l’été. La mini-extension Automne contient 12 tuiles avec des motifs sur le thème de l’automne. La mini-extension Hiver contient 12 tuiles avec des motifs sur le thème de l’hiver. The Spring, The Autumn, The Summer, and The Winter were released in the 3rd edition (C3 for short) in April 2024, November 2024, March 2025, and April 2026 respectively by HiG. They are part of a series of expansions called The 4 Seasons. Rules for The Winter also support using these tiles as an expansion for the Édition Hiver base game (WE3 for short).

These expansions don't exist for the 1st edition (C1 for short) or the 2nd edition (C2 for short).

2. Pose d’un meeple

Tuiles Statue

Vous trouverez 1 tuile Statue dans chacune des séries des Quatre Saisons.

Exemple 1a : Une statue.

The following rule applies to all 4 statue tiles of The 4 Seasons:
If your tile is horizontally, vertically or diagonally adjacent to a statue tile of the 4 Seasons after being placed, you may place 2 meeples on this tile in different features.

Example 1: You place the tile you have drawn on the spring statue. Now you place a meeple on the road and another meeple on the city there.

Winter Edition variant rules for Les Quatre Saisons : L’Hiver

When combining Les Quatre Saisons : L’Hiver with the Winter Edition game, you may not place a meeple in the green field segments of these tiles. Only the snowed field segments are allowed.

  Question : So snow patches in The Winter cannot be occupied and they separate fields and roads in a regular game. Is this behavior the same if this mini is combined with the Winter Edition base game?

Réponse : When you play with the Winter Edition, it’s the other way around. You can occupy the snow fields and the normal fields with grass separates them. (5/2026)

3. Scoring a feature

Les Quatre Saisons : Le Printemps tiles

You now score points for garden and spring tiles that are horizontally, vertically or diagonally adjacent to the spring tile you have placed:

• For each garden you get 3 points
• For each spring tile you get 1 point

Note: The flowers and flowerbeds on the spring tiles, especially the flowerbeds around the monastery, do not count as a garden.

A garden always looks like this:

Example 2: You place the spring tile you have drawn. At the end of your turn, you receive 7 points: 3 points each for the two gardens and 1 point for the other spring tile there (bottom left).

Les Quatre Saisons : L’Été tiles

For water that is vertically, horizontally or diagonally adjacent to the summer tile you have placed, you now receive points.

For each tile that shows water and/or a water tower, you receive 2 points.

Note: You also score 2 points for a summer tile with water on it, if it's placed within the radius of the summer tile you have placed. If there is more than one water on a tile, you still get 2 points.

The summer tile just placed does not generate any points itself, even if it has water on it. Water can be depicted in different ways, e.g:

Example 3: You place your drawn summer tile. At the end of the turn you score 8 points: 2 points each for the two river tiles, a water tower and the fountain. For your placed tile itself you do not score any points.

You can find water on tiles here, among other places: the river, the ferries, the drawbridges, the Ukraine tile, the castles in Germany, inns. Water wells in cities, at crossroads and on roads in general will not be considered.

  Question : Do water wells grant points when placing a summer tile? You may find them in cities and at crossroads.

Réponse : No they don't.
They would fit thematically, but the water wells are too small and hidden in the middle of the cities, which would be too confusing in a larger game. (4/2025)

Les Quatre Saisons : L’Automne tiles

For farmhouses and stables that are vertically, horizontally or diagonally adjacent to the autumn tile you have placed, you now receive points. You immediately receive 2 points for each farmhouse or stable.
Farmhouses and stables (cowshed, donkey stable or pigsty) always look like this:

Example 4: You place your drawn Autumn tile. At the end of your turn you receive 6 points: 2 points each for the donkey stable and the cowshed, and 2 points for the farmhouse.

Les Quatre Saisons : L’Hiver tiles

For highwaymen and autumn tiles that are vertically, horizontally or diagonally adjacent to the winter tile you have placed, you immediately receive 2 points.
You receive no points for the winter tile you just placed.

Example 5: You place your drawn Winter tile. At the end of your turn you receive 6 points: 2 points for the autumn tile and 2 points each for the highwaymen. For the winter tile you just placed, you don't receive points in this move.

Winter Edition variant rules for Les Quatre Saisons : L’Hiver

For highwaymen and wild animals that are vertically, horizontally or diagonally adjacent to the winter tile you have placed, you immediately receive 2 points.

  Question : A Winter tile grants a bonus for wild animals on adjacent Winter Edition tiles. Does this cover the 12 extra tiles in the Winter Edition base game?

The bridge does not end the roads displayed on it, nor does it combine them; one road continues from left to right, while the other continues from top to bottom (ending at the city). The roads split the field into four separate fields.

This road leads to the city but it doesn't end there. Both ends of the road must be closed in order to be able to score.

Placing 2 meeples

Observations générales :

A tile adjacent to a statue allows you to place 0, 1 or 2 wooden meeples. This is one single action.

• If you only place one wooden meeple, you cannot perform any other action instead of placing the second wooden meeple.
• If you only place one or two wooden meeples, you may use direct placement and even another placement mechanic available for one of the meeples: magic portal ( Ext. 3 – Princesse et Dragon), flying machine ( Mini n°1 – Les Ornithoptères), "Add Meeple" / "Place Meeple" ( Extension du 20ᵉ anniversaire).

The wooden meeples that can be placed on the tile placed adjacent to a statue are the following:

• Meeple normal ( Jeu de base)
• Abbé (Jeu de base -  L’Abbé)
• Grand meeple ( Ext. 1 – Auberges & Cathédrales)
• Charriot ( Ext. 5 – Maires et Monastères)
• Maire ( Ext. 5 – Maires et Monastères)

After placing 0, 1 or 2 wooden meeples on the tile adjacent to a statue, you may place:

If you place a wooden meeple on a tile adjacent to a statue, you cannot remove your abbot instead of placing a second wooden meeple.

Ext. 2 – Marchands & Bâtisseurs

If you place a wooden meeple on a tile adjacent to a statue, you cannot place your builder or your pig instead of a second wooden meeple.

Ext. 3 – Princesse et Dragon

If you place a wooden meeple on a tile adjacent to a statue, you may not move the fairy instead of placing a second meeple.

If you place a tile with a magic portal adjacent to a statue, you can use the magic portal with one wooden meeple and place the other on the tile as usual.

Ext. 4 – La Tour

If you place a wooden meeple on a tile adjacent to a statue, you cannot place a tower piece instead of placing a second wooden meeple.

If you place a wooden meeple on a tile adjacent to a statue, you cannot place a wooden meeple on a tower instead of placing a second wooden meeple.

Ext. 5 – Maires et Monastères

If you place a wooden meeple on a tile adjacent to a statue, you cannot place your barn instead of a second wooden meeple.

Ext. 9 – Moutons et Collines

If you place a wooden meeple on a tile adjacent to a statue, you cannot place your shepherd instead of a second wooden meeple.

Ext. 10 – Tous en Piste !

If you place a tile with an acrobat space adjacent to a statue, you cannot add two acrobats to the pyramid.
If you place a tile adjacent to an acrobat space and to a statue, you can only add one acrobat to the pyramid instead of placing wooden meeples on the tile just placed.

If you place a wooden meeple on a tile adjacent to a statue, you cannot score an acrobat pyramid instead of placing a second wooden meeple.

La Roue de la Fortune

If you place a wooden meeple on a tile adjacent to a statue, you cannot place a wooden meeple on the crown of the Wheel of Fortune instead of a second wooden meeple.

Mini n°1 – Les Ornithoptères

If you place a tile with a flying machine adjacent to a statue, you can use the flying machine with one wooden meeple and place the other wooden meeple on the tile as usual.

Le Festival

If you place a festival tile with a wooden meeple adjacent to a statue, you cannot remove a figure instead of placing a second wooden meeple.

Extension du 20ᵉ anniversaire

If you activate an "Add Meeple" symbol when placing a tile adjacent to a statue, you can use the action with one wooden meeple and place the other wooden meeple on the tile as usual.

If you activate a "Place Meeple" symbol when placing a tile adjacent to a statue, you can use the action with one wooden meeple and place the other wooden meeple on the tile as usual.

Les Révoltes Paysannes

If you place one or two wooden meeples on a tile adjacent to a statue, you may protect each of them individually.

If you place a wooden meeple on a tile adjacent to a statue, you may not protect a meeple previously placed on the board instead of placing a second wooden meeple.

Les Péages

If you place a wooden meeple on a tile adjacent to a statue, you may not place or move your tollhouse token instead of placing a second wooden meeple.

Les Petits Bâtiments

If you place a wooden meeple on a tile adjacent to a statue, you may not place a little building token instead of placing a second wooden meeple.

Tuiles promotionnelles russes

If you place a wooden meeple on a tile adjacent to a statue, you may not remove a meeple trapped by Solovei Razboynik or Vodyanoy instead of placing a second wooden meeple.

Water tiles

General Comments

Tiles with water wells in cities, at crossroads or on roads in general are not considered water tiles.

Tiles with ice or snow are not considered water tiles, unless they show liquid water.

Rivers

All river tiles are considered water tiles.

  Question : If a summer tile is placed adjacent to the double-sized tile with the river source, does it grant 2 points per half tile? If the answer is yes, the active player would score 6 points for the tile placement in this example.
